https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/24530/timetable/#20210914

La liste des contributions est disponible ici :
https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/24530/contributions/

Les contributions ne sont plus acceptées, mais les inscriptions resteront ouvertes jusqu'au 9 septembre.

Au plaisir de vous retrouver bientôt!

1. WORKSHOP ON VERY LIGHT DARK MATTER 2021 (27 au 29 septembre 2021)

We are glad to announce that the Workshop on Very Light Dark Matter 2021 will take place as follows.

Website: https://indico.ipmu.jp/event/392/
Dates: September 27-29, 2021
Venue: Online (Zoom)
Registration fee: Free
Abstract submission deadline: September 6, 2021

Invited Speakers:
Silvia Gasparotto (Max Planck Institut für Astrophysik)
Koji Ishiwata (Kanazawa University)
Jeorg Jaeckel (Universität Heidelberg)
Sugumi Kanno (Kyushu University)
Andrew Miller (Université catholique de Louvain)
Matthew Reece (Harvard University)
Yuko Urakawa (KEK)
Lindley Winslow (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)

Recently, dark matter with extremely low mass has attracted much attention. In this workshop, recent experimental results as well as future prospects, and theoretical progress of very light dark matter will be discussed. We will have invited talks by experts in the related fields, as well as contributed talks.

Dark matter searches with gravitational wave observations and searches using gravitational wave detectors themselves are also discussed.
We look forward to your registration and abstract submission.

Best regards,
Tomohiro Fujita (Waseda U/RESCEU)
Naoya Kitajima (FRIS, Tohoku U)
Yuta Michimura (UTokyo)
Ippei Obata (MPA)
Fuminobu Takahashi (Tohoku U)
Masaki Yamada (FRIS, Tohoku U)
Wen Yin (Tohoku U)

POSTES, OFFRES DE THÈSES, CONTRATS POST-DOCTORAUX

1. LECTURER IN ASTROPHYSICS, PLANETARY SCIENCE OR SPACE INSTRUMENTATION

We have a new academic job available. Link below. Please pass on to anyone who might be interested. Deadline is 5th September. Obviously I’d like to see someone in time domain science.

2. CALL FOR PCTS POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

Dear Colleague,

We are writing to encourage you to submit nominations for the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science Postdoctoral Fellowships. They carry the rank of Associate Research Scholar and are among the most prestigious postdoctoral positions offered in the theoretical sciences at Princeton University. They are intended for early-career theoretical scientists, broadly construed, including the fields of astrophysics, biology, chemistry, geosciences, physics, and engineering. The nominees should be individuals with outstanding talent and accomplishment who are eager to broaden their scientific horizons. We particularly encourage nominations of qualified candidates who are women and/or members of other groups that are underrepresented in the theoretical sciences, especially people of color. Fellows receive a three-year appointment in the Center fully supported by Center funds, an office in the Center facility, and have full freedom to develop their scientific interests with the support and mentoring of the senior Faculty Fellows. It is our intention that the Center experience will have a profound impact on the scientific development and future careers of the Fellows.

The deadline for receipt of the Postdoctoral nomination, reference letters, and supporting materials from the candidate is October 15, 2021 so it is important for you to submit your nomination as soon as possible to give your candidate and their references time to complete their parts.

The nomination process is very simple. Click on this link:

https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/nominationFor/21461

and submit the candidate’s name, email address, and a nomination letter, in PDF format. The candidates will then be sent information necessary to complete their application and to submit letters of reference should they choose to accept the nomination. (Please note, this is a new nomination site, so please use this link to make sure you get to the correct page.) A doctorate degree in a related field is required.

The PCTS Faculty Fellows begin evaluation and invitation to interview (via videoconferencing) on October 15, 2021. (The website will continue to accept late nominations and applications, but there can be no assurance they will be considered.)

The mission of the Center is to foster interaction and collaboration between theorists across the natural sciences at Princeton to enhance research and education. We pursue this goal through our Center Postdoctoral Fellowships and our sponsorship of focused programs of study in frontier areas in theoretical science that cut across traditional disciplinary boundaries. A group of Senior Faculty Fellows, coming from a broad range of disciplines and departments, take active responsibility for guiding the intellectual life of the Center. Information about all PCTS programs can be found at our website http://pcts.princeton.edu/

Sincerely,

Ned Wingreen, Acting Director Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.

3. POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN GRAVITATIONAL WAVE PHYSICS/NEUTRON STARS IN COIMBRA/POTSDAM

Dear colleagues,

I would like to draw your attention to an open Postdoc position in the interplay between gravitational wave physics and nuclear astrophysics at the Centre for Physics of the University of Coimbra. The Postdoctoral researcher will join an interdisciplinary and innovative research project in the interface between astrophysics, nuclear physics, and gravitational-wave astronomy. The successful candidate will work in tight collaboration with Dr. Violetta Sagun in Coimbra on neutron star physics and with Prof. Tim Dietrich in Potsdam on numerical-relativity simulations. While the position will be primarily based at the University of Coimbra (Portugal), long-term stays at the University of Potsdam will be possible.

A necessary requirement is a PhD degree in Physics or Astrophysics. A background in nuclear astrophysics, theoretical gravitational-wave physics, numerical relativity, and computational astrophysics is beneficial. Experience in general-relativistic numerical simulations is highly welcomed.

Applications, which have to be sent electronically to Violetta Sagun (violetta.sagun[AT]uc.pt), should include a curriculum vitae, a motivation letter, copies of the MS and PhD certificates. Three recommendation letters should be sent separately to the above-mentioned e-mail.

Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The application deadline for full consideration is September 15th, 2021. Applications will continue to be considered until the position is filled. The position is for one year with a possibility of extension by applying for a personal fellowship. The expected starting date is on the 1st of January, 2022.

The University of Coimbra is an equal opportunity employer with welcoming working conditions, career development, and networking opportunities. For more information, please visit Coimbra University site (https://www.uc.pt) and the Centre for Physics site (https://cfisuc.fis.uc.pt)

Best regards,
Violetta Sagun
